Plane Ride Home

:( We have to go home today! It is sooooo sad.
Well we got packed up this morning and our plane left at 2:10pm. But we did get to go out to breakfast and eat Huckleberry Pancakes! They were really good! YUM! Except what we didn't realize was that the pancakes were hung, I mean giant! They were bigger than your average dinner plate. And we all together ordered 7. Well we should have only ordered 2! So after we all felt like we were going to explode because we ate so much, we took the rest down to the lake and fed it to the ducks and seagulls. They loved it!

Then we went to the airpot. We had went and mailed our bear spray back home earlier in the morning. We checked one bag and then went trough security.
So then just when we had thought we got through and me and my dad were saying how this was the fastest security we'ed ever been through, there was no line, no complications, but wait... Then they ask to look in Abigail's backpack, they wanted to know if an empty water bottle had any water in it? This was one of our nice refillable ones. And then they wanted to go through mom's bag. So it turns out that you can't take Jam on the plane. Which made no sense to us because it was all ready packaged, it still had the plastic wrap and the price tag on it! They were being really mean to her and talking to her as if she had committed a crime for not knowing that you couldn't take packaged Jam on the plane.

Then they said she had to throw it away. Well she said no way and what else could we do. So they had dad go back out check mom's bag and then go back through security!
In the end we finely got on the plane with one less bag to carry.
Well we always do have to have something go wrong with us and flying.
So much for the shortest security ever! :)

But luckily there was no more complications on the rest of the flights, except for a lot of air terminal bumps on the second flight because we were flying over storms. We arrived on time at like 10 something almost 11.

We found both of our bags. Thankfully both of them made it!
Then when we got home and went to bed it was 12pm.
What an end to our vacation! We had sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun and every thing was great! :)

Here are some more pics of us that I didn't post on other blogs.

Us in the old elevator, at Prince of Wales Hotel.

Abigail and I with our White Water Rafting instructor Paul.

Look how tall the snow is!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!

We'll be back Glacier National Park!

Big Mountain Ski Resort

Yesterday (July7, today) on the White Water Rafting trip there was one other family and their Grandparents, well their Grandparents were from the area of Whitefish. So we asked them where was a good place to go tomorrow for the day and they told us about Big Mountain Ski Resort.

There at Big Mountain Ski Resort they have lots of skiing, in the winter. Then in the summer they do all sorts of Zip Lining, Hikes, Hanging Bridges, An Alpine Slide and An Arial Park (or like a big obstacle coarse on the trees).

We did the Alpine Slide and the Arial Park. They were both AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arial Park:

Here is my dad on one of the obstacles.

There were 5 different levels. I did the first 4, but did not do the last and hardest one.
All of us did the 1st and 2nd level, but then my mom didn't want to go on the 3rd and 4th level. All the obstacles were very hard and really test our physical and mental skills, especially the 4th level!

There are all sorts of things that you had to learn first before we went on because you are attaching and reattaching you and all your gear yourself. You also get to hook yourself up to the zip lines that are on the coarse.
The straps are in my face. :)

We had to walk on wires! Like tight rope walkers.

As you can see some of the courses were really complicated, and the hardest part about this one is that you have to attach and reattach yourself on the middle of the wire!!!!!!!

It was all really really fun!

Then after we completed the obstacle coarse in the trees we headed over to the Alpine Slide.
(Well there are no pics of us on that because we all four went on.) The Slide was really fun! They had it set up like the bobsled tracks they would use for the Olympics. They had a long slid and you slid down on the carts (they had wheels) and you had a handle to control how fast you were going.

On the way back to hotel we stopped at what everyone said had the best Huckleberry Ice Cream!
And oh were they right! It was soooooooo good!

We also went driving around to a little town that we had not been to before and went in some shops.

It was a great last day in Glacier National Park!

White Water Rafting

On Saturday morning, we drove from Waterton, Canada, back through Glacier Park. We made our way down to West Glacier. On the way we saw another coyote on the side of the Going to the Sun road. He was really close and we got a good look at him. We stopped at Logan Pass again hoping to see some Big Horned Sheep, but the only thing we saw were some more mountain goats.

Then when we got down to West Glacier we went White Water Rafting, with the Glacier Raft Company. It was sooooooooooooooooooo much fun! Mommy was a little scared before we went, but then after it was over with she loved it! We went on the middle fork of the Flat Head River. Our rafting instructor was Paul. He goes to school at the University of Montana. So we had fun talking to him about there wildlife classes. He is into like the wildlife and fishery stuff, so I enjoyed talking to him about that. We did not go rafting until 4:00pm, so our raft was the only other raft on the river. It was nice and peaceful.

In our raft there was one other family, they were all very nice. The little girl got stung by a bee right before we got on the bus to go down to the river. They gave her some medicine and an ice pack and luckily she was able to go.

This is a picture that they took of all of us from the side of the river!

We were having a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In total we went over 9 big rapids. They were all class 2-3 rapids. Abigail, Daddy and Justin were all sitting in the front and got soaked by all the waves that came over their heads. The water was also pretty cold, because it is glacier melt. We all got really wet from the water splashing up, but Abigail the most.

We had soooo much fun and can't wait to go back again!!!!!

Canada

Oh My Gosh! We saw the most animals today, I think we set a record!
We all got up at 6 am this morning to walk down to swift current lake, but sadly we didn't see anything.
We left Swift Current Inn this morning around 9 am.

So the we started to dive north and headed towards Canada. The Canada boarder was about an hour from where we were this morning, then about 45mins to our hotel.

Along the road, while we were still in Glacier and America we saw: Black Bear running across the road and a Red Fox along side the road.

Then when we crossed the boarder to Canada we saw: 2 Black Bear, 1 Female Moose, 2 Sandhill Cranes, 1 Mule Deer, 3 Female Deer, 1 Coyote, cows and 1 Pica.

Cow. Moo

Mule Deer and the Sandhills Cranes.

Another Black Bear. (Not a very good pic)

The Pica!

Here is the coyote.

And here is the moose.

The Prince of Wales Hotel:

The awesome old fashion elevator!

Then we stopped and took a quick hike at Red Rock Caynon.

It was crazy! We saw sooooooooo many things. It was awesome. We also stopped at the Prince of Wales Hotel. It was beautiful and built in 1927. There they have one of the worlds oldest working elevators. We even got to go up it! It is manually operated.

Another Bear!

Ok so when I say bear jam, this is what I mean...
Well it is sideways, but you get the idea.

The hotel we are now staying in is called Bear Mountain Motel. It is quite nice and is right up next to the mountains. Well I guess it suits the name. :) Now we are going to go walk around this little town. The town is very cute here and all the houses are adorable.

So in total we saw 13 new, or not very commonly seen, animals. Now we have seen 6 bears!

Easy Hiking Day

This morning we took it easy and slept in, we needed it. Then we went over to Fishercap Lake. This was only like a half mile. we spent a while down there, we didn't see anything, but we spent awhile talking to a couple down there. We learned how Glaciers form because one of them had just taken a geology  class.

Glaciers form when layers and layers of ice and snow get compacted down under loads of pressure. Then over the years they crystalize to form a hard ice like rock. They are also a different color than regular snow.

Later we went down and drove on Going to the Sun road. We stopped at Barring Falls and Sun Gorge.  There were beautiful falls there and there was also another lake that we stopped and took more pictures at.

Barring Falls:

The Lake:

Then on our way home we saw a baby moose on the side of the road, them mom spotted the mommy moose on the other side of the road. But they got reunited.

Then we ran into more bear traffic! There was a small grizzly bear right on the side of the road in the meadows. He was only about 40ft away. We got some good pictures of him!

We had a very exciting day! Now we are going to go walk around Fishercap lake again and see of we can see any moose or bears.

Cool Tree Basket!
